Paleo Eco Mama

Hello and welcome to my blog!

My name is Christa and I am a thirty-something year old mommy of two beautiful and healthy girls. K is four years old and B is almost 2 years old. They are rambunctious, fun-loving, girly girls. There’s never a dull moment with these two. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for eight years. Together, we live life to the fullest in sunny Southern California. I have been labeled crunchy by family and friends. I don’t mind it at all. I enjoy saving and living as green as we can. Yes, we do the whole cloth-diapering, baby-wearing, breastfeeding, co-sleeping . . . yadda yadda yadda. It works for our little family.

I truly enjoy crafting of all types. I dabble in a few different areas. I love doing arts and crafts with my girls. I love creating jewelry, both for me and my loved ones. I knit once in a while, but nothing too extravagant. I’ve recently taken up sewing and I found that I love it! I just really enjoy creating!

I like to cook and bake. We do a lot of eating in, creating a lot of new meals and recipe ideas. We have fun with it and truly enjoy the fruits of our labor. Our family mainly follows the paleo/primal/clean-eating lifestyle. Our diet consists of local, pastured/grass-fed beef, organic bison, seafood, organic chicken, and, when possible, local and in-season fruits and veggies, otherwise clean (single item ingredient), frozen veggies and fruit. My kids and husband eat organic eggs. The only dairy consumed is organic cream and occasional cheese and grass fed butter. I am dairy-free and the girls are very limited with their dairy consumption. We cook with coconut oil, olive oil, and tallow. We enjoy avocados, olives, coconut, and nuts for various healthy fats as well. Bone broth and fermented foods (kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles), dark chocolate, dates, local raw honey, and figs are also a popular items in our house.

I also make a lot of my own health and beauty products, and am working on making all of my beauty products. I refuse to put nasty chemicals on myself or my family. I was having a hard time finding products that I trusted to be truly natural and not chemical-laden. So I found it easiest to create my own. Plus it’s fun! You get to play the role of mad scientist! Muahahaha . . . haha. :–)

Beyond that, I really love the outdoors. Hiking, camping, and playing with my kids in the sunshine. Exploring our beautiful state and beyond. We are trying to get out and be more active, especially as the girls get older.

My plan for this blog is to share my thoughts, my recipes for both food and beauty/health products, and my reviews for various products. Along with day-to-day life.

Thank you for stopping by my paleo/eco blog! I hope you enjoy it!
